The Breakfast Club is set to have a familiar face re-joining the team in 2025.
On Friday it was announced Simon Barnett would be joining Lana, Adam, and Paul in January, with Adam describing it as him "returning home."
"I remember my parents taking me to primary school and Simon was on the radio."
Si is a well-known face within More FM after spending 20 years with the station before leaving in 2018.
Lana provided further insight into Si's decision saying "Simon has been through a really hard time recently - and he just wants to have fun now".
While Si's official return won't be until 2025, Lana mentioned "We wanted to give you as much notice as possible about the really exciting news."
Paul followed on by saying "For so many years he has been the benchmark in radio, to have him back on the station that he kind of started, is amazing"
When announced to our Breakfast Club Facebook page on Friday, listeners shared their excitement.
"I've listened to More FM since the very beginning, have always loved Simon's banter and his genuine love for his whanau and friends, and can't wait to hear him again where he belongs!"
Lana gave more details on the initial reaction when they found out Si was returning.
"I just about tackled the boss because I thought he was gearing us up to tell us he was going to The Breeze, and we'd be against him!"
Fortunately, that won't be the case and Si will join the entire team in January 2025.
