Sid Wilson has maintained a stony status when facing questions outside a Los Angeles recording studio.
TMZ reported last week that Wilson has been "permanently" ejected from Slipknot, citing sources close to the band. Neither Wilson nor the band has yet addressed the matter publicly.
A cryptic statement was shared online, however, by Slipknot guitarist Jim Root.
"Don't believe everything you read." He wrote. "Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for a while. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there's more information."
Wilson has been a member of the heavy metal group for nearly three decades, joining in 1998 shortly before the release of the band's self-titled debut record.
In late March, The Daily Mail reported that Wilson and his fiancée Kelly Osbourne had quietly ended their engagement, seven months after the DJ proposed.
The proposal came at Osbourne's late father Ozzy Osbourne's final concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham, England, last July. He popped the question backstage at the show, in front of her entire family, including Ozzy, mum Sharon, and brother Jack, presenting her with a huge diamond ring.
Osbourne later revealed that she had "no clue" the moment was coming.
The couple first met 27 years ago. On Valentine's Day 2022, she shared a post of the couple passionately kissing, captioned, "After 23 years of friendship, I can't believe where we have ended up. You are my best friend, my soulmate, and I am so deeply in love with you, Sidney George Wilson."
They welcomed their son, Sid, later that year, and the family have since been living on a farm in Iowa in the US.
Osbourne was last pictured with Wilson at the Grammy Awards in February.
