Our very own Sharyn Casey reckons she might be in her first "celebrity beef" after an episode of her podcast 'A Little Bit Extra' caught the attention of a former Married At First Sight contestant.
Sharyn and 'MAFS AU' expert John Aiken recently sat down for a chat that covered off behind-the-scenes goss from the smash-hit reality dating show, relationship advice and lots more - but there was one moment in particular that ruffled some feathers.
Discussing the recurring cheating and partner-swap scandals that happen on the show, John told Sharyn: "You give someone a perfect match in terms of what they wanted, and they're like 'hmm, not good enough'."
Once that clip went online, it didn't take long for outspoken former MAFS AU groom Dean Wells - who featured on season five of the show - to take a jab at John in the comments section. "Perfect match? Sorry brother, that is just a flat out lie," he wrote.
Sharyn replied to Dean, trying to explain that "the full sentence makes sense that they look like perfect matches on paper in terms of what they want", but that didn't go down particularly well.
"Yes, which is utter nonsense if you have actually been through the process. John has nothing to do with who is matched with who," Dean replied, finishing with the dreaded clown emoji.
"I think I made it worse, oh my God!" Sharyn said in a follow-up video.
"I think I might be in my first celebrity beef, which is not good for somebody who doesn't like confrontation,' she explained.
"I dunno, I watched Dean's season, and I don't think John Aiken was the issue. If you know, you know."
Dean was dubbed the 'villain' of MAFS back in 2018 after he was involved in his own cheating scandal with another contestant, Davina Rankin.
Since then, he's called himself an "innovator" for being one of the first to cheat on the show, as well as being involved with a string of controversies beyond his time on the telly - including being dropped by his management in 2023 for sharing a transphobic image on social media.
He describes himself as a "Common Sense advocate" on Instagram, where he often weighs in on major political issues, as well as commenting on the latest MAFS season and sharing songs from his previous rapper persona, VISIONZ'.
Don't miss a minute more goss with Sharyn by tuning into 'A Little Bit Extra' twice weekly.
