Sharon Osbourne has opened up about Ozzy’s final moments in a recent interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored. It is raw, honest, and honestly heartbreaking to watch.
Speaking to Piers Morgan in her first TV interview since Ozzy’s death, Sharon recalled Ozzy waking her at 4.30am.
He told her, “Kiss me,” then, “Hug me tight.” Simple words, but the kind that stick with you forever.
She admitted, “I can’t help wondering if I should have, could I have? If only I’d have told him I loved him more. If only I’d have held him tighter.”
During the interview, Sharon also recalled the devastating moment she found Ozzy after he’d collapsed.
"He had a heart attack. I ran downstairs, and there he was, and [the paramedics] were trying to resuscitate him, and I’m like, ‘Don’t. Just leave him. Leave him. You can’t. He’s gone’.
“I knew instantly he’d gone. And they tried and tried, and then they took him by helicopter to the hospital and they tried, and it’s like, ‘He’s gone. Just leave him.'"
Ozzy had been fighting on every front this year. Pneumonia three times, sepsis, chronic pain, Parkinson’s, neck issues, antibiotics that “kill everything in you.”
Still, he was determined to play that final Birmingham show. Sharon said doctors warned him, “If you do this show, that’s it. You’re not going to get through it.”
"He knew his body was failing him. He was in so much pain, so much pain,” Sharon told Morgan.
But Ozzy wouldn’t budge. “I’m doing it,” he told them. And he did, from a custom throne, happier than he’d been “in seven years,” says Sharon.
Seventeen days later, he was gone. A legend right to the final note.
Elsewhere in the interview, Sharon spoke about grief, her kids keeping her going, how she and Ozzy first got together, and where they buried him on their property.
She also mentioned the messages that arrived from President Trump and King Charles, reacted to Roger Waters’ comments, and talked about Ozzy’s decades of diaries.
They also covered the family’s first Christmas without him, Kelly shutting down online comments, and her plans for a new Ozzy and Sabbath movie.
