Selena Gomez says Jonas Brothers breakups ‘bonded’ her with Taylor Swift

And they've been BFFs ever since.

Selena Gomez has revealed how she and Taylor Swift first became friends.

During an interview for the 'Therapuss' podcast on Thursday, host Jake Shane asked the singer-actress how she came to know the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker.

In response, Selena described how she started seeing Nick Jonas around the same time Taylor was dating his brother, Joe Jonas, back in 2008.

"Everything was cute, we were young," she remembered. "We all know and love each other now and it's so cute. We don't know what we were doing. (Taylor) and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet."

"I was about 15, she was about 18, and that's when it was the crazy curly(-haired) Taylor and she had all these bracelets that went all the way up (her arms)."

Selena went on to share how she was one of the first people to ever hear Taylor's 2008 breakout hit, 'Love Story'.

"I believe 'Love Story' was the first song she had ever played me and it wasn't released yet. Yeah, I was in a hotel room and I remember it vividly, it was just one of those songs I instantly heard and thought this is one of the most beautiful songs ever," the 33-year-old continued.

"So, at that age, we became best friends, bonded over the breakup, as girls do. And then, we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after and here we are now 16 years later."

Elsewhere in the chat, Selena recounted how she instantly knew 'Love Story' would be popular with fans.

"I know it was so sweet, she was like, 'OK, I just want to play you this song but just like you know, I don't know (if) it's going to be the first single,' and just hearing her say those little thoughts and just listening to it,'" she recalled, before gushing of her pal: "Yeah, she is a chameleon, she's incredible."

This is the kind of friendship we all look for in life!
