Scribe has revealed his sobriety journey is still going strong after a "miraculous week" free from drugs, despite being "triggered multiple times".
In a new Instagram post from the Kiwi rapper, he said: "Hey.. guess what? I made it through another week of not using."
He continued: "That might sound like 'so what' but for me, it's a miracle. I've been triggered several times this week.
"But I've managed it each time by staying connected to the people I love and I know who love me."
The picture showed a half-faced selfie from the man himself, wearing his trademark sunnies and rocking a healthy glow.
The post ended with a note of support to others who might be going through a similar journey.
"If you're doing the work like I am, a helpful tip is: Don't isolate yourself. Stay connected. You are loved."
Scribe has previously opened up about his recovery journey back in 2019, where he mentioned how his achievement of being six months sober allowed him to feel clear-headed and positive about the future.
"I'm feeling really good about my life. I'm still me, and I all the things I've done are always going to be me, but it's a new me," he said.
"I really like who I am now, for the first time in my life."
Music came as a "saving grace" from struggling with substance abuse and brushes with the law, but his sudden popularity came with extreme highs and lows for the artist.
In the same 2019 interview Scribe said: "Before music, I was in street gangs - I was doing a lot of dodgy stuff, but falling in love with hip hop gave me something that I love more than drugs and more than a negative way of looking at life."
"It became a positive life force that I really held on to. I think I was very lucky to find success with hip hop music."
With this latest update, it is great to hear that Scribe is doing well and looking healthy, we are proud of the hard mahi it takes to stay strong and on track for any goal.
Kia kaha.
