With the changing of the seasons, we hay fever sufferers are reminded that we need to stock up on nasal sprays, antihistamines, and tissues to battle the effects of Mother Nature's pollen.
According to a recently resurfaced study, scientists now believe that those who suffer from the allergy should engage in a bit of sexual healing to reduce those itchy eyes, runny noses, and uncontrollable sneezes.
In 2019, Iranian researchers discovered a link between the reproductive system and the nasal passages, indicating that sex may be the key to reducing the effects of hay fever.
Before you get too excited (in every sense of the word) there is one thing we should probably mention.
Because the relief system is related to ejaculation, males are actually more likely than women to experience allergy relief after doing the deed. Classic.
Scientist Sina Zarrintan explained in the Medical Hypotheses journal: "It can be done from time to time to alleviate the congestion, and the patient can adjust the number of intercourses depending on the severity of the symptoms."
However, a separate researcher from Tabriz Medical University recognised that the seemingly saucy hay fever cure is not as easy as popping an anti-allergen tablet.
"There are some limitations in using ejaculation as treatment of nasal congestion. Such as not being applicable out of home and not having any sex partner," he explained.
You'd also need to question whether someone under the weather would even be up to getting down and dirty, to begin with.
Either way, if there's any reason for a bit of summer lovin', this one is worth a try!
