Ronan Keating has been catching up with everyone on the airwaves of The Breeze today as he gets ready to head back to New Zealand for two massive shows in March 2027 at Christchurch’s Wolfbrook Arena and Auckland’s Spark Arena.

On air, he talked about where it all began and how wild it is to look back on his journey. Long before sold-out arena tours and solo hits, Ronan was just a teenager working in a Dublin shoe store who loved to sing and entertain. When his manager spotted a newspaper ad looking for the Irish answer to Take That, he decided to take a punt and walked around the corner to audition.

He shared what it was like standing in line with 300 other hopefuls (turns out a young Colin Farrell and Danny O'Donoghue from The Script were in that exact queue) before landing his spot in Boyzone.

He also opened up about that tough first year on the road. The band piled into a white transit van, driving the length and breadth of Ireland playing nightclub gigs while dodging thrown beer bottles and cigarette butts! But that baptism of fire is where they honed their craft before landing their big break on the Smash Hits tour in the UK, performing "Love Me for a Reason" and launching a legendary career.

Don't worry if you missed him today, he will be back on air tomorrow at 2pm! If you tune in between 2pm and 3pm every day until Friday, you could score tickets to his show in Auckland or Christchurch, plus $1,000 in spending money. Ronan might even call you personally to give you the good news!
