Rod Stewart to embark on 'last tour ever' in 2027

Rod Stewart has unveiled the dates for his "last tour ever" next year.

The 81-year-old rocker, who has been on his One Last Time farewell trek since 2024, will bow out of touring next year after more than 60 years on the road.

He confirmed that The Final Encore will "most definitely be (his) last" rock 'n' roll tour, however, he will not be retiring from live performances altogether.

"Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce that next year will be my last tour ever, ever, ever," he said in an Instagram video on Monday. "I'm not retiring, but this will be the last rock n' roll tour. So I want to thank you for everything you've given me and hopefully I've given you something in return."

The Maggie May hitmaker then leaned over a piano and hit the keys as he yelled, "So please come out and see me on the tour! It's gonna be great!"

In a statement, the British rocker thanked his fans for making his "extraordinary life possible" and promised to repay them with "one hell of a show".

"My dear friends, the time has come to say farewell to life on the road. After more than six decades, The Final Encore will most definitely be my last," he declared. "I've been singing the music I love since I was 19 years old, and I've had the privilege of taking it around the world to all of you. It has given me a life beyond anything I could ever have imagined, and I hope I've given you some fond memories in return."

The Final Encore will kick off on 23 April in Dublin, Ireland and conclude in Hannover, Germany on 24 July, with U.K. stops including Belfast, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and London.

The announcement comes shortly after Stewart was forced to cancel the remaining dates on his 2026 North American tour in August to recover from a routine coronary stent procedure.
