When a group of music students signed up for a guitar class with musician Dave Kushner, I’m sure they didn’t quite expect Rob Trujillo to casually stroll in and help.
A video posted to Instagram by Guitar Center shows Kushner teaching his class the main riff of Enter Sandman, before the Metallica bassist crashes the party, and they all jam out together.
The post was captioned: “You never know who’s going to show up! Shoutout to @robtrujillo of @metallica for the Enter Sandman masterclass 🤘”
As Kushner is starting to play it himself, that’s where Rob takes the opportunity and storms in, saying, “That doesn’t sound right… That does not sound right, man.”
The class is laughing and in shock, but Kushner casually says, “dude, you’re just in time”.
Kushner and Rob jam out the intro together, and then the entire class jumps in for the main riff.
This makes for an epic crossover episode.
The comments were absolutely loving Rob getting amongst the community.
“Seeing him in a chair not crouched in the crab stance feels sacreligious,” said one user.
Another one said “The best 🎸”, while another rejoiced with “YES KING ROBERT.”
One user really spoke for all of us by saying, “I would’ve SOBBED.”
It’s not the first spontaneous thing Rob’s done this year. Earlier this year, he and Kirk Hammett pulled out a surprise Ozzy Osbourne tribute at an intimate gig. That was equally as sick.
Bloody love your work, Rob.
