If there’s one thing The Rock Drive’s Jay and Dunc love almost as much as a yarn, it’s a bloody good TV series. It was only a matter of time before smoko chat drifted towards Taylor Sheridan, the American writer, producer, and director who seems physically incapable of making a boring show.

Between Yellowstone, its many prequels, and the latest oil-soaked hit 'Landman', Sheridan has quietly built a TV empire.

As Jay puts it: “He’s just got the recipe.” Hard to argue with that, really.

So for anyone wondering how this bloke keeps pumping out hit after hit, we’ve pulled together a handy list of Taylor Sheridan’s TV shows, past and present, for your next binge:

Yellowstone (2018-2024)

Creator, writer, EP. Modern Western juggernaut. Land wars, family power struggles, cowboy violence. The show that made Sheridan untouchable.

1883 (2021–2022)

Creator, writer. Yellowstone prequel. Wagon trains, death, heartbreak, and zero mercy. Widely regarded as one of the best Western series ever made.

1923 (2022–2025)

Creator, writer. Another Yellowstone prequel. Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Prohibition, lions, trauma. Big money, big misery.

Mayor of Kingstown (2021– )

Co-creator, writer, EP. Prison-town power broker drama starring Jeremy Renner. Relentless, bleak, violent. One of his darkest shows.

Dunc described this one as “unbelievable.”

Tulsa King (2022– )

Creator, writer, EP. Sylvester Stallone as an old-school mob boss exiled to Oklahoma. Crime drama with humour, swagger, and Sheridan grit.

Special Ops: Lioness (2023– )

CIA black-ops thriller. Female operatives, terrorism, moral grey zones. Military realism turned way up.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves (2023)

Creator, writer, EP. True story of one of the first Black US Marshals. Old-school justice, Western violence, historical grit.

Landman (2024– )

Creator, writer, EP. Set in the Texas oil boom. Billy Bob Thornton. Power, money, land deals, danger. Think Yellowstone, but with oil rigs.

This is Jay and Dunc’s “favourite show”.

Whether you start at Yellowstone or dive straight into Landman, one thing’s clear - Sheridan doesn’t miss often.

Chuck any of these on, and you’ll know pretty quickly why Jay and Dunc reckon he’s got it nailed.
