Glastonbury Festival never fails to surprise us, and this year was no exception. Imagine the shock of the crowd when Rick Astley took the stage and delivered an iconic cover that absolutely no one saw coming
Making his Glastonbury debut, the 57-year-old music legend kicked off the festivities on Saturday, opening the Pyramid Stage with a bang.
He didn't just stick to his chart-topping hits; he threw in some new music and even treated the audience to unexpected covers. One of the highlights was his rendition of Harry Styles' hit 'As It Was.'
The crowd went wild, and fans couldn't stop raving about this unexpected twist.
"Life can be sweet at times. This is one of those times," one fan wrote.
Another added: "This song just always invoked so much happiness in me."
While a third shared their pleasant surprise: "omg the 'Take On Me' at the end sounded amazing"
But that's not all Rick had up his sleeve.
He showcased his drumming skills with a rocking version of AC/DC's 'Highway To Hell.' Talk about a man who can do it all!
What a rocking performance!
"Big respect for anyone who can drum and sing at the same time," wrote one fan.
Another said: "Watching him play every instrument in every genre while covering vocals without mimicking the original singer like a single trick cover band singer is really quite something. The man appears to just love music."
"Rick rocked !!!! Best set so far for me was @rickastley What a genuine and talented guy - got the crowd moving," a third echoed.
Honestly, I could do with hearing more Rick Astley covers, for the meantime though, I'm going to be playing these on repeat!
