All of our hearts broke when the news broke that The Duke of Hastings wouldn't be returning to 'Bridgerton' for season 2, but now Regé-Jean Page has spoken on the rumours that he may make his comeback in season 3.
If you missed it, Page had been confirmed to be in talks with the "big bosses" about his potential return - the key word being 'potential'.
When Page was spotted in Milan with his Bridgerton co-star Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony 'Bridgerton', the rumours ran full steam ahead.
However, we now have a solid answer from the star himself, who wrote on Instagram: "The boys are back in town. No, I'm not going back to the show btw - the papers made that one up."
Fans of the actor took to the comments section to express their disappointment that they won't be seeing more of the Duke.
Appreciating the honesty a fan wrote: "Thank you for letting us know the truth."
A second commented, "Break my heart, why don't you. Lol."
"PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GO BACK TO BRIDGERTON! We miss you!" a third added.
However, just because Page isn't returning to 'Bridgerton' doesn't mean he hasn't been keeping busy in the acting world.
He's recently moved on to new projects, such as 'The Gray Man', 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' and is being highlighted as a possible candidate to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.
The third season of Bridgerton is set to begin filming this summer, and according to Nicola Coughlan, who portrays the youngest Featherington sister and the persona of 'Lady Whistledown,' announced 'Bridgerton' Season Three will follow Penelope and Colin's love story.
Well, now that's sorted, we can prepare for another big binge, but we'll have to wait a little longer to see how their story will play out, with season three expected to come out in 2023.
