A Reddit thread is going viral after asking 'What’s the weirdest-named business in your town or city?' - and I can't actually believe some of these are legit.
It all kicked off with the Christchurch hot dog shop YOLO - famously an acronym coined by millennials for “you only live once.”
The question quickly opened up nationwide and, whoa, there are some absolute doozies.
One commenter said: “There’s a tattoo shop on Wairau called For Skin. I still cannot believe they didn’t see it and/or didn’t care.”
A third added: “The vet I always go to is called At the Vet, which isn’t so strange… until someone pointed out how awkward it is to tell someone you’re at the vet.”

“I remember driving past a place called Shack of Sit, a furniture store in Levin,” someone said. “Pretty sure it’s changed names now, lol.”
Curl Up N' Dye is another interesting choice for a hairdresser in West Harbour, Auckland also got a mention.
“I used to snortle out loud like a 10-year-old every time I processed an invoice from Knobs & Knockers,” a Redditor wrote.
Paekākāriki once had a fish and chip shop called The Salty Seaman, which sadly is no longer around. And another chippie on Auckland’s North Shore, someone pointed out the unfortunately named Farteze.
A comment that left me gobsmacked was: “ANAIL nail salon in Newmarket, Auckland. Their signage uses a condensed kind of font that makes the I and L blend together.”
And the number one most mentioned weirdest-named business in New Zealand goes to…. Butt Drilling in Blenheim.
“Even their logo is questionable,” one person wrote.

Another said: “You all lose... Butt Drilling in Blenheim is the correct answer… They have to know what they did.”
A third thought, “The two guys who ran it were ‘Woody’ and ‘Stumpy’,” was a funny detail.
There ya have it - the nation’s weirdest business names. If you know any others who deserve a mention, we’re all ears!
