R. Madhavan to Host Reboot of Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai

In the early 2000s, the late actor Farooq Shaikh won hearts across India as the gentle, charming host of Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai. The hit Zee TV show offered viewers an intimate, heartfelt look into the personal lives of Bollywood’s biggest stars.

Now, the iconic talk show is making a comeback. Actor R. Madhavan is stepping into Shaikh’s shoes to host Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai 2.0 on Zee5, according to a report by The Times of India.

Preserving a Celebrated Legacy

Zee5 officially announced the return of the series as part of its upcoming lineup, calling the original show a "cultural phenomenon" that left a lasting impact across generations.

Carrying forward Farooq Shaikh’s legacy is both a privilege and a responsibility, Madhavan noted about his new role.

"The original show, under Farooq Shaikh, created a rare space for honest, deeply human conversations that celebrated the person beyond the public persona," Madhavan shared. "To carry forward a legacy like that is both an honour and a responsibility. As Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai returns on Zee5, our endeavour is to preserve the soul of the original while making it resonate with today's audiences."

Despite constant celebrity updates on social media today, Madhavan believes the core appeal of the talk show remains as strong as ever.

"Today, we have unprecedented access to the lives of people we admire. We know what they do, where they go, and what they share—but we rarely get to know who they truly are. That's what makes Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai so relevant even today," he explained.
