Rüfüs Du Sol fans take a breath, because we just got the word on those breakup rumours

"I would rather sit naked on a hot grill than live in a world without Rüfüs Du Sol."

Rüfüs Du Sol fans were sent into a spiral believing that the group were breaking up after a very vague announcement made during their show over the weekend.

Now, you can breathe a sigh of relief because, after some research, we can confidently say that the band are not breaking up and their NZ gig coming up this November will be going ahead.

In case you missed it - Tyrone Lindqvist, the lead singer of the electronic trio, shared that the show on Sunday night was "very, very special as it marks an end of a chapter for us as a unit."

Of course with the initial shock factor and extreme lack of info, some fans took what Tyrone said as a breakup announcement and I mean, you can't blame 'em, it's a pretty valid thought.

We've had word from Kiwi promoter Campbell Smith from CRS, who has confirmed: "Rufus Du Sol are not breaking up, the Auckland show is definitely on. The comment on stage in LA was related to moving houses".

Since the announcement social media lit up with loads of fans already mourning the unconfirmed split.

One person wrote: "Rüfüs Du Sol can't break up I haven't seen them live yet"

A second echoed the disbelief saying: "Rüfüs Du Sol breaking up can't be real. Stop this right now."

"I would rather sit naked on a hot grill than live in a world without Rüfüs Du Sol," joked a third (at least we hope it was a joke).

Other fans took it as a geographical split up after the group have spent most of their recent time in Los Angeles together.

And well, they would be correct.

Okay, so our premature freakout was completely unnecessary, but hey, at least we'll get to kick on next month - catch ya in the mosh, yeah?
