Priyanka Chopra went home "bruised and scarred" after throwing herself into the action scenes in her new movie The Bluff.
In the swashbuckling action-adventure, the Quantico actress plays a former pirate named Ercell 'Bloody Mary' Bodden whose new life comes under threat when her notorious former captain Connor arrives on her island seeking revenge.
Reflecting on the shoot in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Chopra admitted that she ended up "bruised and scarred" because she did most of the stunts herself.
"This movie really required our faces on camera because there's a dramatic performance that's happening so our stunt doubles were used very sparingly. They were used more to coach us on how to do it," she explained.
Chopra then shared that the action-packed invasion sequence in the beginning was particularly difficult because her character was barefoot and her hands and arms were exposed in her white costume.
"The whole home is made out of wood," she said, referring to the set where the fight takes place. "So I had splinters and cuts and things that you don't realise when you're doing it and at the end of the night, when you're sitting in that magnesium soak, you're like, 'Ow! Ee!'"
The Indian actress noted that she filmed the sequence for four or five days, and during that time, she was coated in more and more fake blood.
"The blood's not fun 'cause it's cold... and it's sticky and you have to be in it all day and your hair is matted and you have dust and s**t all over you," she stated, before making clear that she loves making movies and feels "lucky" to be able to be in them.
The Bluff, co-starring Karl Urban as Captain Connor, will premiere on Prime Video on 25 February.
