Perrie Edwards has revealed that she "cried all day" after an unfortunate mishap just before her wedding.
The former Little Mix star tied the knot with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Portugal over the weekend after nearly 10 years together.
Speaking to Vogue, Perrie shared that most of the weekend went smoothly, but she was left in tears "all day" after misplacing a sentimental piece of jewellery.
"Alex gave me a diamond necklace after I gave birth to Axel and I wear it every single day, but the day before I came away to Portugal it went missing," she said. "I cried all day, we looked everywhere - we even checked the hoover - but it was gone and I was convinced someone had stolen it."
The situation took a turn on the morning of the wedding when hairstylist Aaron Carlo helped lift her spirits while she was getting ready.
"He was sorting through my hair extensions and he said, 'Okay, Perrie: what I'm about to show you is your something old, your something new, your everything in one, and you're going to cry,'" she recalled.
Perrie explained that Aaron had found the necklace, which had been tangled in her hair all along.
"I sobbed," she admitted. "I was so happy and so relieved. It set the tone - I knew from that moment it was gonna be the best day ever."
The If He Wanted To He Would hitmaker added that the emotional moments didn't end there, revealing that both she and Alex were overwhelmed as she walked down the aisle.
"We both just cried our eyes out," she told the publication.
Perrie and Alex, both 32, married in a picturesque Catholic church in the village of Estoi, in the Algarve, Portugal, with former Little Mix bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall in attendance.
The singer wore three different wedding dresses for the ceremony and celebrations, including a form-fitting gown by Dana Harel and a crystal-embellished floor-length dress by Galia Lahav.
Perrie and Alex began dating in 2016 and became engaged in June 2022. The couple share two children, son Axel, four, and five-month-old daughter Alanis.
