Is Winter Olympics 'Penis-Gate' real? Top surgeon claims he treated a ski jumper

It turns out that the ‘penis-gate’ controversy is back in full swing, and could potentially be more than a wild rumour.

USA Today revealed that a top plastic surgeon, Alessandro Littara, known for his penis-enlarging procedures, says he provided a procedure for a ski jumper in the last month.

The controversy, dubbed 'penis-gate', kicked off when German newspaper Bild alleged that male jumpers were getting hyaluronic acid injected into their nether regions.

The goal? To boost their crotch dimensions so they can wear a larger suit, which would improve their flight lift and thus their overall distance.

In the world of ski-jumping, every centimetre counts. For every 2cm increase in the circumference of a suit, there is a 5% increase in lift and a 4% reduction in drag.

World Anti-Doping Agency president Witold Banka said he was “going to look at it” when the controversy was initially brought up to him in early Feb. However, the controversy has now come back into the spotlight.

Littara didn’t confirm if the athlete is in the Winter Olympics, but the timing does coincide.

"I can say that I treated him last month and used a generous dose of hyaluronic acid," Littara said. While the surgeon won't name names or nationalities, he did mention the athlete claimed it was all about avoiding "embarrassment in the changing room".

Conveniently, Littara added that the results are immediate, meaning the jumper could fit into a new, larger suit "after just a few minutes".

According to Stuff, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation have called the whole saga “pure hearsay”.

People are very creative in their search for Olympic gold these days, that’s for sure.
