Members of Black Sabbath, Metallica, and a bunch of other rock legends attended Ozzy Osbourne’s private funeral on Wednesday (July 30), where The Prince of Darkness was laid to rest.
A public send-off was held in the streets of Birmingham earlier in the day, which saw thousands of fans singing, chanting and mourning the singer, while the visibly devastated Osbourne family took a moment to visit the Black Sabbath Bridge and lay down some flowers.
Following the funeral procession - which was livestreamed around the world - Ozzy’s closest friends and family gathered for the private funeral service at his and Sharon’s home in Buckinghamshire, England.
Ozzy’s Black Sabbath bandmates - Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler - were in attendance at the private funeral, as well as Ozzy’s longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde, Metallica’s James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo, Slipknot’s Corey Taylow, Rob Zombie, Yungblud, Elton John and Mailyn Manson, reports The Sun.
A bunch of photos of the late, great singer were hung up around the house for the service and were then gifted to attendees, a family friend told The Sun.
Tents were erected around the grounds of the Osbourne home for the private service, with a stage built for speeches and tributes - including one from Yungblud, who honoured his late friend that he’d grown very close to in recent years.
"Everyone at the service just wanted to support Sharon and the kids, it has been an awful time," the friend said. “Toasts were raised, memories were shared - it was a very fitting goodbye."
The Prince of Darkness was buried next to a lake on the family property, which was decorated with a wreath that read "Ozzy Fucking Osbourne" and a floral tribute on a water fountain that simply spelled "Ozzy."

“Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake,” the family friend added.
Sounds like it was a beautiful service for the late, great legend.
