Ozzfest could be gearing up for a potential 2027 return, if its official social media accounts are anything to go by.

Over the past few days, Ozzfest has posted a pair of teasers on Instagram, sparking immediate speculation.

The first one was titled “Ozzfest could return. 2027?” and fans were on board to say the least.

“As long as it stays heavy metal, it’ll be great,” said one fan.

“Bring it back! Bring it back! Bring it back!” was another comment.

The official account then posted another one, asking fans what their attitude is about a potential Ozzfest return. This became a bit of a breeding ground for suggestions of potential artists.

“Slipknot, Pantera, Slayer and the return of sepultura w/ the cavaleras! Let’s go!” someone was clearly ready to become the event planner.

Another suggestion was “Black Sabbath with a Hologram Ozzy”

Many think that it should be a tour, not a one-day festival: “What made Ozzfest great was that it toured the country and gave up-and-coming bands the opportunity to play all over the country for thousands of people a day.”

This chatter follows comments Sharon Osbourne made in an interview with Billboard, where she confirmed conversations have taken place about bringing Ozzfest back.

Speaking about its original purpose, she said, “It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people.

It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”

While she didn’t divulge any potential names, she confirmed she would like to “mix up” the genres.

Ozzfest ran as a full-scale tour until 2007, and had a presence until 2018, existing as a New Year's Bash, featuring icons like Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Jonathan Davis, Body Count, Zakk Sabbath, and Wednesday 13.

How good would this be, eh? Let’s make it happen, I reckon.
