The brand-new One New Zealand Stadium is already proving to be the hotspot venue in Ōtautahi Christchurch - and the events calendar is filling up fast.
With Crusaders home games, Six60 and Synthony headlining the upcoming 'Once in a Lifetime' gig, and Robbie Williams’ 'BRITPOP World Tour', there's plenty going on.
If you’re heading along - including those travelling from around the motu - you’re gonna want to know the ins and outs of the venue. And there’s one app that has everything you need to know in one convenient place.
We’re talking about having your tickets ready to go before you enter the gates, a map that guides you from wherever you are around the city straight to your seat, and all the key information you need ahead of your next event.
So, if you’ve already got something booked - or you’re thinking about securing tickets to one of the big events on Venues Ōtautahi’s calendar - you’re gonna want this handy app ready to go in your pocket.
Everything you need to know about the One New Zealand Stadium app
Ticket Wallet - buy and find your tickets
The One New Zealand Stadium app has a ticket wallet, so you’ll never have to go digging through emails, text confirmations or website logins when you get to the front of the line.
By linking your Ticketmaster account in the app, all your tickets are ready to go.
Any tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will automatically load into your wallet, ready to scan, which is a win for you and everyone else lining up behind you.

I used the feature ahead of Super Rugby’s Super Round and can honestly say I’ve never gotten into an event faster.
Just knowing where the tickets were eased my usual shaky hands, trying to flick through and zoom in on each individual ticket.
I was also pretty excited about the new tap-and-go feature - once your tickets are loaded, it’s basically like using PayWave in your wallet, but for entry instead.
You can even buy tickets directly through the app via verified ticketing partners. I wasn’t joking when I said it really is everything in one place.
Map - find your way to and around the stadium
I can’t be the only one guilty of leaving everything to the last minute, including finding my way to the stadium and locating where I am actually sitting.
With an interactive map that gives step-by-step directions from anywhere in the South Island right to your seat in the stadium, the embarrassment of asking for simple directions can be a thing of the past.
You can genuinely get direction from your house, accommodation, or wherever you’re getting the party started, all the way to the gates of the stadium.

Once you’re inside, it helps you easily find everything you would need during your visit - from your favourite food spots, toilets, water stations and even first aid rooms.
There’s also a seating map feature that lets you explore and get a feel for the different views from the stadium.
Obviously, this can change depending on the event, but it’s super handy when you’re buying tickets and want a clearer idea of what you’re in for before you commit.
Hungry? Find and flick through the menu of food vendors
If I’ve learnt anything from the events I’ve already attended, it’s that it's better to go in hungry, and I mean it.
You can check out every crumb of food on offer at the venue. Just be warned, if you’re indecisive like me, you’re spoilt for choice from the best that local Canterbury eateries have to offer…
There’s a wide range of diet-friendly options, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal.
Some of the vendors have been talked about around the city by foodies for years - including Smokey T’s, Fush, Arbour Woodfired Pizza, Pedro’s House of Lamb, Bacon Bros, Sheffield Pies and plenty more.
With the app, you can scroll through all of their menus and pricing, so you can tuck in for a feed without feeling an unexpected pinch on your wallet.
You can also find all the food vendors nearest to your seat directly through the app’s map.
Got a question about One NZ Stadium? The app has your answer
Look, I get that navigating an app that has everything you need in it can feel a little overwhelming.
While it’s pretty user-friendly, sometimes you just want to ask a question without having to go searching for the answer yourself.
There’s a built-in AI chatbot that can help you find what you need quickly - at least most things, from everything I’ve already asked about.

If you’ve got specific dietary requirements, you can ask which vendors cater to them, check what the next event on the calendar is, or even ask where the toilets are…
And if it doesn’t have a direct answer, it’ll point you to where you can find it in the app, which in itself takes the stress away.
So, if you want to impress your crew heading to and within the stadium, you’re going to want to have the One New Zealand Stadium app ready to go!
