Eileen Gu has confirmed she is a pro both on the slopes and in press conferences.
The Chinese freeskier was not stoked after a reporter hit her with a pretty ignorant question following her recent performances at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The reporter asked: “Do you see these as two lost silvers gained or two golds lost?”
Instead of getting heated, Eileen simply laughed in his face before delivering a masterpiece of an answer.
“I’m the most decorated female freeskier in history, I think that’s an answer in and of itself,” she started.
“Winning a medal at the Olympics is a life-changing experience for every athlete,” she continued. “Doing it five times is exponentially harder because every medal is equally hard for me, but everyone else’s expectations rise, right?”
Then she hit him where it hurts, which made me also jump out of my seat with joy: “The two medals lost situation, to be quite frank with you, I think is kind of a ridiculous perspective to take.”
“I’m showcasing my best skiing, I’m doing things that quite literally have never been done before,” Gu confirmed.
I think that is more than good enough, but thank you.
She ended the answer with how she started it - with a laugh.
Pure class from the 22-year-old.
The internet was quick to jump in with support.
“She laughed in his FACE lmfao I love her,” said one comment.
“The sweetest rage I've ever seen,” another labelled it.
Another said what we were all thinking: “How I craft my argument 7 hours later in front of my mirror.”
Gu, born in the U.S. to a Chinese mother, has competed for China in halfpipe, slopestyle and big air events since 2019.
She was the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Winter Olympics in 2022, when she won two golds and a silver..
This year, she won silver in both slopestyle and big air, making her tally 5/5 in medals for Winter Olympic events.
Can confirm that Eileen Gu just became an icon for many with that answer.
