Offset was sued over his alleged $100,000 (£75,000) tab at a Detroit casino just days before he was shot on Monday.

The Migos rapper has been sued for breach of contract and fraud by the owners of the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Offset opened a $100,000 line of credit with the establishment in March 2024, and they are trying to recover the money he borrowed.

Casino bosses allegedly couldn't get in touch with the rapper, so they tried to withdraw the amount from his account directly, as per the terms of their credit agreement, but there allegedly wasn't enough money to cover his debt.

A representative for Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, told the outlet, "We are working toward a resolution."

The lawsuit was filed just days before the Bad and Bougee musician was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida on Monday. He was taken to hospital to be treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.

"We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care," the rapper's rep said in a statement on Monday. "He is stable and being closely monitored."

According to the police, the shooting occurred at the valet area outside the venue after a fight. Fellow rapper Lil Tjay, real name Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct related to the altercation. The investigation is still ongoing.

Offset shares three children with his estranged wife Cardi B.

Migos disbanded in 2023, a year after bandmate Takeoff was fatally shot outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas in November 2022. He was 28.
