A New Zealand woman had to be escorted off her Qantas flight due to alleged “intoxicated” dancing upon takeoff.
After the pilot refused to take off, the plane returned to the gate, where Australian Federal Police officers were called to assist.
They asked the woman to leave, but when she reportedly became argumentative and refused, she was removed so the flight could continue.
Footage shared by AFP shows the 50-year-old arguing with authorities attempting to remove her from the aircraft.
“We’re going around in circles, it’s time to get up and go,” one officer said, before removing the woman and arresting her on the connecting airbridge.
Her alleged intoxicated behaviour included dancing in the aisle while the plane was taxiing for takeoff and ignoring cabin crew instructions.
The flight was departing Sydney International Airport heading to Queenstown.
“Maybe no one puts you in a corner, but we will take you off a plane,” Australian Federal Police wrote on Instagram.
“Travellers are reminded that if you misbehave under the influence of alcohol, you’ll be removed from your flight,” they added.
“You’re not just spoiling your trip, but also potentially ruining the travel plans of hundreds of other people, and risking a criminal conviction.”
The woman in this case is set to face court.
It’s not the only case of someone’s behaviour ruining a flight - there are plenty of stories out there.
Remember earlier this year, a Fiji Airways flight ended in chaos when a passenger's mouth had to be taped shut?
She spent much of the flight strapped and silenced in her seat after allegedly verbally abusing her husband, fellow passengers, and flight attendants.
It was reported she, too, had been intoxicated and disruptive, forcing the crew members to take some serious action.
