NZ's best pies officially crowned

Is there anything better than a pie?

New Zealand's Pie King was crowned last night the Bakels New Zealand Pie Awards - unofficially the best night of the year.

Our own General Lee entered pies in two categories, but it was Tauranga baker Patrick Lam's classic mince and cheese that took out the Supreme Award, giving the legendary Lam a record seventh title.

You can find Patrick's award-winning mince and cheese at Gold Star Bakery in Tauranga.

It was a huge night for Euro Patisserie in Torbay, taking out three gold awards and apprentice baker of the year for 2019.
