It's been a month since Cyclone Gabrielle badly hit the northern regions of the country, affecting hundreds of thousands of Kiwis. Power cuts, floods, and slips left some regions completely cut off from the rest of the country, needing air or water support to bring in emergency supplies.
New Zealand Army band did a heartfelt cover of Ka Hao and Rob Ruha's award-winning song '35' dedicating it to everyone who was affected by Cyclone Gabrielle last month.
"This New Zealand Army Band cover of '35' by Ka Hao ft. Rob Ruha is dedicated to all of those affected by #CycloneGabrielle" they wrote.
"All our aroha goes out to you."
The song was loved and appreciated by many in the country.
"Ka pai NZ Army Band! Amazing cover of an awesome waiata," one wrote.
"Mauri ora!! Felt your aroha! It's not easy to do a cover like that. Thank you all!" another wrote.
"Pretty good rendition I think. Appreciate thoughts for that region of the Motu recently affected by awful weather events" a third wrote.
