After heaps of crackup and creative name suggestions, the eagerly awaited NZ Warriors-owned pub has officially been named, but some fans are not stoked with the decision.
Early this year, the NRL team bought a local Auckland hotspot formerly known as 'Holy Hop' and set off on a mission to make it the city's dedicated spot for fans of any and all sports in NZ.
Taking to Instagram this morning, the NZ Warriors wrote: "We asked, you spoke. The bar has officially been named 'Full Time' 💙💚??."
Naturally, fans were disappointed to find out their suggested names hadn't made the final cut. I mean, there were some absolute top-tier choices, including 'The WAHtering Hole', 'Bandwagons' and even the simple 'Gym' for those who could cheekily head off to get a bevvy with the ultimate cover.
But, as none of those made the final decision, fans have now shared their underwhelming reactions in the comments.
"All those good suggestions and they call it that? 😂," one Wahs supporter wrote.
Another said: "Can we have the bunker review this name?"
"This is horrific. There is time to change. If we start a petition how many signatures do we need to change it to the wah bah?" added a third.
And it seems that the majority are with them.
"The Wahs bahs sounds better," someone agreed, while another added: "Still gonna call it the Wah Bar 😂."
It wasn't all negative though, there were a few commenters who approved of the name.
One fan said: "'See you at Full Time' does sound [fire]🔥," and another agreed: "Great name 👍."
What do ya reckon? Will you be headed straight to 'Full Time' when they announce opening day or will you be backing some sort of fan-led petition for a name change?
