Musicians with Cheetos in city street scene

Look, 2026 has already thrown some curveballs, but this one might take the crown.

Nickelback have just released a new music video with Megan Thee Stallion to announce the comeback of Cheetos’ Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle flavour, and nobody had this on our 2026 bingo card.

US rapper Megan Thee Stallion is not exactly the artist you’d expect to see teaming up with Chad Kroeger to sing about snack foods, but here we are.

The whole thing comes from Frito-Lay, the company behind Cheetos, who wanted to grab the attention of younger consumers. Their chief creative officer Chris Bellinger laid it out straight. “I can buy a view, but I can’t buy a like and I can’t buy a comment. And I definitely can’t buy a share,” he said. So the solution was simple. Throw Nickelback, Megan, and a spicy pickle into the same blender and see what happens.

The track is called Pickle’s Back, and it opens with Megan demanding more Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle Cheetos only to discover the flavour has been discontinued. She ropes in Nickelback for a “duet”, which the band agree to with the very Nickelback line, “We’ve done weirder.”

Then they launch into a reworked version of How You Remind Me with lyrics like, “They’re bringing back the Flamin’ Pickle… It’s only ’cause it rhymes with ‘nickel.’” Again, points for honesty.

From there, the video goes full blockbuster. Secret-agent outfits, cheetah masks, a break-in at a Cheetos warehouse, a truck chase, and an explosion of Flamin’ Hot dust that basically baptises an entire city.

By the end, the fictional Frito-Lay execs scrap their anchovy and mayo flavour, cave to the pandemonium, and officially “bring pickle back.”

So if you’ve been wondering what Nickelback have been up to, they’re out saving discontinued snacks with rap artists. There ya go.
