It's a time for Charlottes and Olivers, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs annual release of the most popular baby names in New Zealand.
About 56,000 births were registered in Aotearoa during 2021, with a total of 16,790 different first names.
Oliver has remained a strong #1 boys' baby name since 2013, while Charlotte has finally made it's way to the #1 girls' baby name position after coming second for two years straight.
A newcomer to the top 10 boys' names this year was Theodore, which appeared in the eighth spot.
Manaia is the most evenly split gender-neutral name, with Quinn sitting just below.
