If you love drinking tea, then do not hesitate to pour another one for yourself.
A recent study in the United States has discovered that drinking at least two or more cups of black tea per day will lower your risk of dying from any cause.
The finding also showed that even if you drink a lot of cups of tea, it can still be a part of a healthy diet.
A team of US researchers conducted a study to find out the connection between tea consumption and mortality. They used the data that UK Biobank had gathered between 2006 and 2010.
498,043 men and women aged between 40-69 years participated in this survey by completing questionnaires. Black tea is mainly consumed among this group.
Their results showed:
"Higher tea intake was associated with lower mortality risk among those drinking 2 or more cups per day, regardless of genetic variation in caffeine metabolism."
If you are a coffee person, then worry not because some researchers have discovered great heart benefits along with longer life for people with or without cardiovascular diseases.
"But our data suggest that daily coffee intake shouldn't be discouraged, but rather included as a part of a healthy diet for people with and without heart disease" the researcher said.
