Neil Perry claims he was 'terminated' from The Band Perry

Neil Perry has claimed he was "terminated" from his family's group, The Band Perry.

On Wednesday, the musician posted a lengthy statement via Instagram in which he alleged that his sister, Kimberly Perry, presented him with an ultimatum about the future of the band in June 2024.

"My sister wanted her husband to become a member of the band, taking my brother's place. I made it equally clear that I was not okay with that," he began. "By then, the situation had become about far more than the line-up. I had witnessed instability and broken trust that fundamentally changed my ability to move forward. Weeks later, I was terminated. The day after my birthday."

Neil went on to claim that Kimberly and her husband Johnny Costello, the only current members of The Band Perry, have taken full control of the group and he no longer has a "financial interest" or access to the "resources and business" he helped build.

And in a separate statement, the artist revealed that his brother Reid Perry had exited the band too.

"Shortly after the band signed a label deal, my brother left the band. What remained is my sister and her husband," the 36-year-old added.

Representatives for Kimberly and The Band Perry have not responded to the claims.

Neil is currently promoting his new group, Wolves of June.

The Band Perry released their self-titled debut album in 2010, with the single If I Die Young topping the country music charts.

The group turned independent in 2018 before officially going on hiatus in 2023.
