I'm purring like Perry because it's been announced that 'Phineas and Ferb' is coming back!
Our favourite stepbrothers with weirdly shaped heads are coming back for two new seasons - each with twenty episodes - the president of Disney Branded Television Ayo Davis announced.
Dan Povenmire, co-creator of the show and the voice of the clumsy, loveable, criminal Dr Doofenshmirtz, made a Twitter video to confirm the news as well.
Man, I missed that 'Doofenshmirtz evil incorporaaaated' jingle.
Ayo said that Disney is super excited to be working with Povenmire on bringing back the show.
"Dan is renowned for his ability to create universally beloved stories and characters with both heart and humour," she said. "We couldn't be happier to continue or collaboration with him and bring back the iconic 'Phineas and Ferb' in a big way."
Povemire himself said that seeing how much people adore the show has been the pinnacle of his career and he's ecstatic to be brining it back.
"It has been the greatest pleasure of my career to see how an entire generation of kids and parents have embraced the characters and the humor of 'Phineas and Ferb,'" he said, as reported by Variety. "I'm eagerly looking forward to diving back into the show for them and for a whole new generation.
There are so many great gags from that show that I can't wait to relive.
Doofenshmirtz not recognising Perry the Platypus unless he has his little hat on is top-tier comedy. Neither of Doofenshmirtz's parents showing up to his birth is an all-time joke. And Candace sticking with snitching on her siblings despite the universe constantly working against her is just incredible.
What I'm most looking forward to though, is the incredible soundtrack making a return. I mean there was at least one slapper of a song every episode (the tune 'Ain't Got Rhythm' is legitimately in my go-to, no skips Spotify playlist).
There's no official word on when the show will be returning, but it's more than likely going to come out on Disney+. Hopefully, it's out before the end of summer. Until then, make sure you find a good way to spend iiiit.
