After years of searching for trendy furniture online, Mocka is finally opening a physical store in Aotearoa.

The homegrown brand has announced it’s settling in back where it all began with a huge new store at Christchurch’s Tower Junction later this month.

It’s a bit of a full circle moment for the company, which was founded by the Blake family in Ōtautahi 19 years ago.

And the announcement comes just weeks after Mocka opened its very first retail store across the ditch in Maroochydore, Queensland.

While some Mocka pieces have been available to buy in person through a shared “shop-in-shop” concept with its parent company, Adairs, that changed after Adairs exited the NZ market back in May.

At almost 900 square metres, it'll be Mocka's biggest store yet, to shop from their living room, bedroom and nursery furniture, kids' pieces, outdoor ranges and home office collections in person.

It will also feature digital pricing, interactive in-store screens and a dedicated kids' play area to make shopping a little easier with the little ones.

Mocka CEO Catherine Williamson said Christchurch was always going to be a special choice.

As a New Zealand-founded brand, it felt fitting that our first NZ retail store would open here where the brand began.

"For more than a decade, we've built strong relationships with customers online, and we're thrilled to now offer a space where they can experience our products firsthand," she added.

Mocka is planning a family-friendly grand opening event in August.

And if you're not based in Christchurch, the brand has confirmed it's planning to open more NZ locations in the future.
