Miley Cyrus has revealed the moment she knew she wanted to leave her Hannah Montana days behind her and pack away the iconic blonde wig for good.
In a new interview with Elle, Miley revealed "the minute" she had sex, she realised she had grown beyond the series.
"It felt ridiculous," she said.
"I was kind of like, 'I can't put the f*cking wig on again. It got weird. It just felt like...I was grown up."
First times can be fairly awkward at the best of times, let alone when you have a Disney career to get back to on Monday..
The singer went on to claim that she was constantly viewed as a "Disney mascot" instead of a person, but that she is proud of her work on the show - and the high-profile fans she drew along the way.
"It's pretty cool when you hear Cardi B was listening to Hannah Montana when she was in high school. That sh*t makes me happy. "
Miley says that she now think she has earned respect in the music industry for her work beyond Hannah Montana, but that she is still figuring out who she is as a person and performer.
"I guess that's what I'm still doing - trying on identities and seeing what fits," she said.
Miley, our teenage years were definitely pretty different, but we salute you for bringing us the joy of Hannah Montana - and knowing when it was time to transition to your Bangerz era.
