Midwave Breaks - Hiasom

Tauranga Alt-Rock duo Midwave Breaks are surprise-releasing their Brand New single Hiasom. 

It's the band's third single of 2026, following two tracks that have already made a solid dent in the NZ Rock Airplay Chart this year. Hiasom keeps that momentum going, and offers another taste of the band's forthcoming debut full-length album - currently in production for Vinyl and CD, and scheduled for release in October.

A straight-up rock 'n' roller, Hiasom is heavy on the riffs and high on positive energy. The title stands for "Happiness Is A State Of Mind" - An aspirational anthem, not a given, but a reminder - that joy is worth chasing, even in uncertain times.

Like most of the band's catalogue, Hiasom was written, recorded, mixed and mastered by the duo themselves, in a spare room of a farmhouse in Tauranga - and is part of a body of work they've spent over a year crafting into their debut album.
