MGK has revealed his skin turned "yellow" and he became "really sick" after he rushed into getting a blackout tattoo.

In a new interview for Billboard Canada, the Bad Things star, formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly, recalled how in early 2024 he decided he was tired of his body art.

Accordingly, MGK called up celebrity tattoo artist ROXX and asked her to give him a "dark mode" inking across his arms and torso.

However, ROXX cautioned him that the process would take a minimum of two months.

"She warned me that it was going to be near impossible, even from a pain tolerance standpoint," he told the publication. "I said, 'Yeah, we got two months.'"

To get the tattoo, MGK would visit ROXX's studio in Los Angeles every day.

Yet, constantly going under the needle quickly took its toll on his physical health.

"After the first week, we hit my lymph nodes around my armpits and shoulders, and I got really sick. My skin was turning yellow. I wasn't able to sleep. I stopped being able to move certain parts of my upper body," the 36-year-old explained.

But despite enduring a lot of pain, MGK - born Colson Baker - has no regrets over the decision.

"I came out the other side extremely inspired," he insisted. "Not just because of what I had done, but because of what I had to overcome."

MGK dropped his latest album, Lost Americana, in August 2025.
