Metallica have just unleashed the pro-shot video of 'Harvester of Sorrow' from their gigantic Auckland gig, and it is slick.
To be honest, the word "epic" doesn't even cut it. It was absolutely out the gate.
It was a wall of sound, a baptism by metal, and without a doubt, one of the best damn concerts Eden Park has ever seen.
This video bottles all the emotions of the night perfectly.
Harvester of Sorrow isn’t exactly a regular in their setlist, so this was an absolute treat for the faithful in the 09. And now it’s got the professional, high-quality Metallica video treatment? Hell yeah!
This video isn’t just about the lads nailing their performance - it’s about the electricity.
50,000 Metallica loyalists headbanging in unison and throwing horns like there’s no tomorrow.
The energy leaps right off the screen, grabs your throat and chokes you (But like in a good way). Also, shout out to the bloke in the front row who we can see repping a Rock hat.
If you’re unfortunate and missed out, watching this is a perfect way to feel like you were there.
Reminiscent fans have jumped into a virtual mosh pit in the comments to relive the moment.
“GREATEST BAND EVER, LONG LIVE METALLICA!” one shouted.
“Aucklander here! This show was insane and when they played this song (one of my favourites) I couldn't believe it! Lets go Metallica! Harvester Of Sorrow! 🤙” another one wrote.
Someone right in the thick of it added, “I was up the front behind the Snake Pit, wasn't expecting Harvester! So good to see live!!”
If you were there, this is a solid way to dive right back in. No more poorly recorded videos on your phone, featuring your botched vocals in the background.
And for those who weren’t there, we need to start a petition.
All in favour of Metallica dropping the full concert, say I?
