‘The world is healing’: Metal fans praise these kids’ first gig in viral video

A young guitarist with dark curly hair plays an electric guitar at a microphone, next to a drummer; a circular inset shows other enthusiastic young band members in a room filled with records.

If you needed proof that the next generation of heavy metal is alive and headbanging, here it is.

A viral Instagram video, now sitting at over a million views, shows two young boys who call themselves Major Pain ripping into an original metal track in the American record store Rollin’ Records. It was the young guns’ first ever gig.

The setup is beautifully rough. The two kids talk some shit to each other, before launching into their song. Zero polish. Maximum heart.

In front of them, a pack of metal fans are doing what metal fans do. Swinging arms. Jumping around. Nearly accidentally punching each other in the face out of pure joy. One bloke starts throwing down immediately. Respect.

The comment section is basically a bunch of proud older siblings.

“The world is healing. Kids are cussing and making heavy music again 🙂‍↕️” one person wrote.

Another said, “Cymbals broken as hell. Set up is what it’s able to be. 101% distortion. A few people getting a good mosh in and at least 3 kids’ parents don’t know they are there. I LOVE THIS! The next generation is gonna be okay.”

Someone else reckons, “This the kind of video you see posted around in 15 years when these kids are selling out tours.”

And honestly, they might not be wrong. The drummer’s getting called “amazing,” the guitar tone “insane,” and when the breakdown slows down, one fan simply wrote, “When it slowed down lol yessssssss.”

How good.

If this is the next wave coming through, I reckon the scene’s in safe hands.
