Megan Thee Stallion will not perform in Wednesday's Moulin Rouge! The Musical shows following her hospitalisation.
The rapper was initially forced to withdraw from Tuesday evening's performance after falling ill mid-show. It has now been confirmed that she will also miss both scheduled performances on Wednesday.
In an update posted on the Broadway production's website, an announcement titled "important information" stated, "The role of Zidler will not be played by Megan Thee Stallion at the April 1st performance" at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Megan, whose full name is Megan Pete, was taken to hospital on Tuesday night after becoming unwell during the performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, where she made her Broadway debut as the Moulin Rouge's owner Zidler last Tuesday.
In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, a spokesperson for the production said, "Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated."
Following her sudden exit, her hairstylist wrote on social media, "Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital."
Details of the Mamushi rapper's illness have not been disclosed, and she has yet to comment publicly on her condition.
The production has not confirmed whether the 31-year-old will return for Thursday's scheduled performance.
Megan announced in February that she would take on the role of Zidler for a limited eight-week run, beginning on 24 March and continuing through to 17 May.
She is the first woman to portray the character, originally named Harold Zidler, who has previously been played by performers including Boy George, Eric Anderson and Bob the Drag Queen.
