Megan Thee Stallion has reflected on the success she has achieved despite coming from a humble background.

The Savage rapper has opened up about her rise to fame after breaking into the mainstream back in 2019.

Speaking to Entrepreneur, Megan explained that she is the first person in her family to achieve major success in the creative industry.

"I'm the first person in my family to be a millionaire," she said. "I come from a lot of teachers. My uncle was in the military. These are real, necessary jobs."

Although she always dreamed of becoming a musician, Megan, 31, still attended college near Houston and successfully completed a degree in health administration.

However, the star shot to fame in 2019 with her commercial mixtape Fever and her first Billboard Hot 100 hit, Big Ole Freak. Later that year, she cemented her status with the release of Hot Girl Summer, featuring Nicki Minaj.

"I think I'm the first person in my family to say, 'I want to be a musician. I'm going to go for it, guys.' And I know what it feels like to struggle," she told the publication.

The WAP hitmaker went on to reflect on her journey to success.

"I know what it feels like to not be so sure about what's going to happen tomorrow," she shared. "I know what it feels like to want something so bad and you're not sure if you're going to get it, but you keep working for it."

Elsewhere in the interview, Megan admitted that finding international fame forced her to learn how to separate her stage persona from her personal life.

"I had to learn that, when I go home, I can't take my whole day with me inside of my personal life," she shared. "Like, whatever happened to Megan Thee Stallion today, I should not take that home to my real friends and my real relationships and my family. This is two different lives I'm living."
