Mathew Knowles is "evaluating all legal remedies" after a video went viral in which he appears to dismiss his ex-wife's contribution to Destiny's Child.
In a leaked interview clip published by Page Six, PIX 11 News anchor Kendis Gibson made mention of the contributions that Tina Knowles made to the success of their daughter Beyonce's band during an interview on his Kandid with Kendis show.
At the end of their sit-down, Gibson told Mathew that he thought he and Tina had "earned their flowers" with their tireless dedication to the Say My Name band.
"You guys put in the work," he gushed, to which Knowles flatly replies, "What work did she put in?"
Knowles told later that Page Six he was simply asking Gibson for clarity.
"I don't do interviews, I have conversations," he explained.
"I didn't know what he meant by that. So, I'm saying, well, calmy, 'What work did she put in?' That was a question. I don't know how it became a comment, but it was a question," he said.
"I'm just so baffled by all of this," he added. "You can't even find a negative comment I've ever said about Tina. So, I don't get it. People try to bait us all the time to be against each other. There was a complete misrepresentation here and I'm evaluating all legal remedies at this time."
Knowles went on to insist to the outlet that he and Tina "have a wonderful relationship", so much so that he refuses to refer to her as his ex-wife.
"That's a negative term. I've never referred to Tina as my ex. She's my former wife."
