MAFS producer spills on getting paid more to change contestants' minds, and I'm gagged

"The longer you keep producing your person. the bigger your cheque gets."

A former Married at First Sight producer has spilled some major tea in a recent interview claiming there's been bonus pay up for grabs if they can keep the brides and grooms to stay on the show.

Speaking to the So Dramatic! podcast, the anonymous producer revealed they worked on 'MAFS' as well as 'The Bachelor' here in New Zealand.

They explained the crew are "given a person/pair, depending on the show" and get rewarded with extra dosh the longer/ more successful their assigned contestants are on the show.

Does it cross a line though? MAFS Australia bride Bronte Schofield recently claimed that the producers of her series went too far in keeping her on the show.

Apparently, they "manipulated" her into staying with her 'gaslighting' hubby' Harrison Boon until the end of the experiment.

A source from the show told So Dramatic!: "The producer called her begging her to stay and trying to change her mind. They said anything they could to get her to stay."

Although they do isolate them and tell them things they'd want or need to hear to keep them there, the NZ producer explained that they "weren't allowed to keep [contestants] against their will".

Plus, "always a psychiatrist on call" to support and care for the contestants' mental health.

Bronte wasn't the only MAFS contestant who claimed to be "forced" to stay on the show. Cameron Woods reportedly had to "see his storyline through" and stay until the final vows despite wanting to leave a month earlier.

So, there you have it, a glimpse into the wild world of reality TV. Who knows what other secrets these producers have hiding behind the scenes?!
