'MAFS AU': Rhi and Jeff announce 'heavy hearted' split in separate statements

One of the 'Married At First Sight AU' success stories, Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels have officially called it quits after nearly two years together.

The pair both took to their Instagram Stories separately yesterday to confirm the split.

“With a heavy heart, I want to share that Jeff and I have decided to part ways. This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make,” Rhi wrote.

She went on to thank fans for their support throughout their relationship, saying she’s “incredibly grateful” for the love they shared and the memories they made together.

“Your kindness means more than you know, and I appreciate your respect and understanding as we move forward.”

Jeff also addressed the breakup in his own statement, though he didn't mention Rhi by her name.

“After a lot of thought, unfortunately, my relationship has ended,” he wrote. “This has been an incredibly difficult time, and I’m trying to navigate this as best as I can.”

He added that he was grateful for the “memories and genuine love” they shared, thanking the people who supported their relationship and asking for privacy during the split.

Rumours had been circling for weeks after fans noticed the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram, and quietly removed most traces of their relationship online.

Rhi had also recently shared a series of photos to Instagram last week with the caption: "Things that look small but changed my life."

One picture included a caption, saying she is "choosing relationships that feel calm and safe. Not confusing inconsistency or mixed signals for love."

Another said she is learning to enjoy her own company - another hint toward her newly confirmed singledom.

A source told the Daily Mail the relationship had reportedly "fizzled out" due to a “lack of effort”. They claimed Jeff “was not putting in any effort” and the pair had stopped going on dates.

Neither Rhi or Jeff have confirmed the reasoning behind their split.
