MAFS: 'Heartbroken' Lucinda Light speaks on rumour she'll replace Mel Schilling

Former 'Married At First Sight Australia' bride Lucinda Light has shared a heartfelt tribute after expert Mel Schilling revealed a devastating health update.

Mel announced earlier today that her cancer has spread to the left side of her brain, with doctors telling her there’s “nothing more they can do.”

In her post, Lucinda perfectly captured how many of Mel’s fans are feeling: “My heart is absolutely broken as I’m sure many of yours are💔. A moment of deep collective grief felt across oceans in response to your news."

“Mel, you are truly one in a million. A beautiful, warm-hearted, wise woman whose presence and gifts have touched so many lives."

She added: "The light you bring to this world is extraordinary, and the ripple of what you have shared on this planet will continue to move through people for years and years to come. “

In a prior post, Lucinda also addressed speculation about stepping into an expert role on 'MAFS AU' following Mel’s departure from the show.

"It’s been a real heart-tug hearing that the radiant Mel Schilling is stepping away from MAFS Australia. What a force. What a woman. She leaves very big shoes to fill," she wrote.

“I’m deeply touched and truly mean that. The faith people have in me is not lost on me."

But for Lucinda, her focus is elsewhere.

“I’m very single. And currently in London filming Celebs Go Dating & very much in student mode. I’m learning, unlearning, stretching, laughing at myself and soaking up wisdom from the agency,” she said.

Lucinda wished Mel an "expansive, healing and grounding" next chapter. She’s confident the team at Channel 9 has someone “fabulous waiting in the wings” for the role - but NO, it won't be her.
