EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this story incorrectly used the last name Nield when referring to Robinson. We are sorry for the confusion, and the article has been updated to reflect the correct participant.

What’s been tipped as one of the biggest scandals in ‘Married At First Sight’ history is starting to unravel, and it involves a couple who seemed to be one of the strongest in this year’s experiment.

Chris Robinson came onto MAFS Australia 2026 a few weeks into the experiment, looking for love - and he had some big future plans. He was on the hunt for a partner to join him on his journey into fatherhood.

One of the biggest storylines for him and his on-screen hubby, Sam Stanton, was the news that Chris was expecting two children, one via surrogate and another via a donor.

On the show, he revealed he was pursuing solo parenthood after a past relationship ended because his partner didn’t want kids. But according to his ex-partner Jason Smith, that version of events isn’t the full story - AT ALL!

In a bombshell three-part tell-all with ‘So Dramatic!’ host Megan Pustetto, Jason claims he and Chris were actually in a long-term relationship, planning a future together that included marriage and children, at the same time Chris entered the experiment.

He says he only learned Chris had gone off and married someone else on national TV when paparazzi photos hit the media.

On top of that, Jason alleges that MAFS producers knew about their relationship and helped Chris cover up his past.

Jason goes deeper into the dark turn of their relationship, revealing claims of emotional and physical abuse, police involvement, and a pattern of breakups and on-off relations - reportedly over 70 times.

He describes the relationship as “highly volatile”.

Plus, he claims they were still in therapy together, working on their relationship, when Chris went on MAFS.

Jason alleges Endemol Shine Australia and Channel Nine - the production teams behind the show - responded when he raised these concerns, and why he questioned Chris being cast at all.

He also touches on why he believes Chris really went on MAFS and which parts of his storyline may not be accurate…

Jason also alleges ongoing contact and stalking behaviour, and confirms that police are now investigating the situation.

An Instagram story displays a 'So Dramatic!' newsletter titled 'THE DRAMA DROP!' and 'MEGAN'S HOT TAKE!', detailing an interview with MAFS groom Chris Robinson's ex-partner Jason Smith about claims of production cover-ups.

Chris has not yet commented on Jason’s explosive allegations.

But something tells me this story is FAR from over.
