Filming has barely begun and Married at First Sight Australia 2027 is already delivering the drama, including a groom who reportedly walked out without saying goodbye.
Married at First Sight Australia 2027 is already filming and somehow, despite us being months away from seeing a single episode, the drama has WELL AND TRULY begun.
MAFS usually films from around June/July through to November before hitting our screens at the start of the following year. But thanks to New Idea Australia and the Daily Mail Australia essentially setting up camp outside the weddings, we already know a LOT about the 2027 cast.
If you want the full rundown on all the new brides and grooms, I’ve done the stalking so you don’t have to in the latest episode of A Little Bit Extra. But here’s what I can tell you.
We’ve reportedly got ten couples, including a female couple, something we haven’t seen on MAFS Australia in a VERY long time, and I am absolutely here for it.
The cast is a classic MAFS cocktail of real estate agents, marketers, nurses and, naturally, a couple of people who have already dabbled in reality TV.
But forget all of that because WE HAVE A RUNAWAY GROOM.
And apparently this wasn’t some dramatic Commitment Ceremony exit where someone writes “LEAVE” in enormous letters and storms off.
This groom reportedly got up in the middle of the day, left his bride high and dry and didn’t even say goodbye to the other contestants. Just… GONE.
Exactly why he left is still being kept pretty tightly under wraps, but one thing we do know is that it apparently had nothing to do with the new alcohol restrictions being introduced this season.
Because MAFS is cracking down on the booze.
Alcohol has played a pretty significant supporting role in some of the show’s most toxic dinner party blow ups over the years, but this season contestants will reportedly be limited to just ONE drink at dinner parties.
And apparently the rules can get even stricter.
Some couples reportedly haven’t been allowed to keep alcohol in their apartments after arguments broke out between them while drinking off camera.
So basically, if producers decide tequila is not helping your marriage, tequila is also getting a divorce. And despite taking away one of the key ingredients in the traditional MAFS dinner party disaster recipe, it sounds like we shouldn’t be worried about a lack of drama.
Expert John Aiken has already teased that TikTok will have a big influence on the upcoming season. What the hell does THAT mean?
Are they all going to diagnose each other as narcissists after watching three videos?
Are we getting TikTok detectives?
Is someone going to communicate exclusively through trending sounds?
We’ll have to wait until MAFS Australia returns to Three in 2027 to find out.
But between a leaked cast, a runaway groom, booze restrictions and whatever TikTok chaos John Aiken is hinting at, I can tell you one thing: I am already invested.
For the full rundown on the leaked cast AND everything we know about our mysterious runaway groom, listen to the latest episode of A Little Bit Extra, your internet friend who gets all the goss so you don’t have to doomscroll.
