Mac Miller's dad speaks out about drug use one year after his son's death

One year since Mac Miller's tragic death, a celebration was held at Pittsburgh's Blue Slide Park - the namesake for the rapper's debut studio album - welcomed family, friends, and fans to honour his legacy.

Mac's father, Mark McCormick, was in attendance and broke his silence following the arrest of his son's apparent drug dealer, who supplied the bad batch that led to Mac's death - the result of a mix of fentanyl and cocaine.

"So they finally caught the motherf–ker that sold him the drugs that killed him," McCormick said. "And we find some comfort in that. And many of us were young, including me, experimented with drugs.

"But it's a different f–king world out there, and all it takes is a stone — a little tiny stone of fentanyl and cocaine — and you're dead. Drugs are being laced with fentanyl — all kinds of drugs. And the one thing I would say to you is: Don't take the risk. It's just not worth it."
