Legendary singer Tracy Chapman joined country music star Luke Combs on stage to perform 'Fast Car' at the 66th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles tonight.
The 33-year-old country singer introduced the song by raving about his love for the 1988 original, calling Tracy's song his "favourite song before I even knew what a favourite song was."
The two singers, who come from different musical genres, then joined together on stage for a duet of the hit song that's transcended generations and recharted again last year.
Celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson and Oprah were part of the standing ovation who gave full praise and appreciation to the performance, which was a rare appearance for Tracy to make.
Tracy Chapman hasn't performed publicly in nine years, making it even more special.
Luke Combs's version of 'Fast Car' was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance at this year's Grammy Awards. But it's not the first time 'Fast Car' has been nominated at the Grammy Awards. Tracy's original version won the Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, as well as nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 1988.
