'Lucky to be alive': Halsey shares update on struggling with ongoing health battle

Halsey has revealed she is "lucky to be alive" after an ongoing health battle.

The singer is due to release her fifth album, which includes one track called 'The End'. In the song she details her struggle to find answers about a worsening health condition.

"Long story short, I'm lucky to be alive," she captioned a post on Instagram. "short story long, I wrote an album."

The 29-year-old tagged the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in her post, but didn't specify any further details.

The social media post shows a video of her looking in pain while rubbing her legs. "I feel like an old lady," they said. "I told myself I'm giving myself two more years to be sick." They added that she is manifesting a "rebirth" and is "not going to be sick" by the time she's 30.

"I'm going to look super hot and have lots of energy and I'm just going to get to redo my twenties in my thirties," they said.

The carousel also showed a picture of her attached to what appears to be a blood transfusion machine, wearing a surgical mask.

"Today is day one of treatment," they said.

The lyrics of 'The End' detail some of what they've been through.

"Every couple of years now, a doctor says I'm sick / Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks / And then they lay it on me / And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain," she sings. "When I met you, I said I would never die / But the joke was always mine 'cause I'm racing against time."

Halsey has previously spoken about their ongoing battle with endometriosis.
